Trade covers both goods and services: India exported over USD 22.4 billion to the Netherlands and imported around USD 5 billion. The Netherlands is also India\u2019s <strong>third-largest global export destination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Netherlands is India\u2019s <strong>fourth-largest source of FDI<\/strong>. Between <strong>April 2000 and September 2024<\/strong>, Dutch investments in India totalled <strong>USD 52 billion in equity inflows<\/strong> across infrastructure, logistics, chemicals, renewable energy, and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dutch_Investment_in_India_From_Multinationals_to_Startups\"><\/span>Dutch Investment in India: From Multinationals to Startups<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dutch companies have invested across sectors like consumer goods, agriculture, logistics, energy, and healthcare. There has been a clear shift toward <strong>startup collaborations<\/strong>, digital platforms, and innovation-led growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Heineken<\/strong>\u2014well known for its stake in United Breweries\u2014recently expanded its Global Business Services hub in <strong>Bengaluru<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/city\/hyderabad\/cheers-from-heineken-netherlands-based-brewer-picks-hyderabad-for-asia-pacifics-first-gcc-to-invest-rs-2500-3000-crore-hire-up-to-3000-techies\/articleshow\/121920297.cms\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/city\/hyderabad\/cheers-from-heineken-netherlands-based-brewer-picks-hyderabad-for-asia-pacifics-first-gcc-to-invest-rs-2500-3000-crore-hire-up-to-3000-techies\/articleshow\/121920297.cms\">2<\/a><\/sup>, reinforcing India\u2019s importance in its global operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other major Dutch investors include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%F0%9F%8C%BE_Agriculture_and_Food_Tech\"><\/span>\ud83c\udf3e Agriculture and Food Tech<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Nutreco<\/strong>, through <strong>Skretting<\/strong>, is partnering with Indian agritech startups. It is in the process of acquiring <strong>Eruvaka<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/agfundernews.com\/nutreco-buys-indian-aquatech-eruvaka-for-40-50m-in-exit-for-omnivore\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/agfundernews.com\/nutreco-buys-indian-aquatech-eruvaka-for-40-50m-in-exit-for-omnivore\">3<\/a><\/sup>, a company that provides IoT-based aquaculture solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>FrieslandCampina<\/strong> works with Indian dairy cooperatives and explores technologies for quality assurance and supply chain optimisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%9A%99%EF%B8%8F_Logistics_and_Supply_Chains\"><\/span>\u2699\ufe0f Logistics and Supply Chains<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>APM Terminals<\/strong>, part of the <strong>Maersk Group<\/strong>, runs key port terminals in Mumbai and Gujarat. It is investing in <strong>digital logistics solutions<\/strong> to enhance connectivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These companies are working with Indian startups in areas like tracking, cold-chain automation, and last-mile delivery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%F0%9F%8C%B1_Renewable_Energy_and_Sustainability\"><\/span>\ud83c\udf31 Renewable Energy and Sustainability<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Royal DSM<\/strong> is focusing on <strong>bio-based solutions<\/strong> in nutrition and materials. With over <strong>159,000 startups<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2093125\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2093125\">4<\/a><\/sup>, India offers space for co-creation and market testing. Indo-Dutch engagement in this space is only growing stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Indian_Investment_in_the_Netherlands_A_Quiet_but_Strong_Surge\"><\/span>Indian Investment in the Netherlands: A Quiet but Strong Surge<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>India\u2019s investment in the Netherlands is also expanding. The country is now the <strong>fourth-largest destination for Indian outbound FDI<\/strong>, with more than <strong>300 Indian companies<\/strong> operating there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_IT_and_Consulting\"><\/span>1. IT and Consulting<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and HCL<\/strong> run delivery centres and R&amp;D hubs in the Netherlands to serve the European market.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Pharma_and_Biotech\"><\/span>2. Its IJmuiden plant remains an example of Indo-European industrial collaboration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Travel_and_Hospitality\"><\/span>4.
